VERMONT PUBLIC UTILITY COMMISSION ANNOUNCES FUEL DEALER ANNUAL REGISTRATION

Montpelier, VT, January 17, 2024 – If your business sells fossil-based heating fuel— including oil, propane, natural gas, coal, and kerosene—into or in Vermont, you must register with the Vermont Public Utility Commission (“Commission”). Complete your registration form online here.

Registrations are due by January 31, 2024, and are required by Act 18, which was enacted last year to design a potential Clean Heat Standard to address fossil-fuel emissions from Vermont’s heating sector.

The Vermont Public Utility Commission will convene an Information Session in this proceeding on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. The purpose of the Information Session on How to Use the Fuel Dealers Registration Form is to provide an opportunity for people to ask questions about and get help with the mechanics of using the form. Please note this information session will offer technical assistance with registration but the Commission cannot provide advice on any legal aspect of registration or the potential Clean Heat Standard.

The session will be open to the public.
